Asylum statistics for June 2024

In June 2024, 1881 asylum applications were registered in Switzerland, 476 less than in the previous month (-20,2 %). Compared to June 2023, the number of asylum applications decreased 514 (-21,5 %). The most important countries of origin were Afghanistan and Turkey.

Fact sheet Afghanistan (clarification)

The State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) adjusted the asylum practice for women and girls from Afghanistan as of July 17, 2023. To make it easier to understand the extent to which the SEM has adjusted its practice, the corresponding fact sheet has been clarified at the suggestion of the Political Affairs Committee of the Council of States (PIC-S).
