Passports and identity cards are delivered by separate post (different manufacturing facilities).

* Temporary passports are issued in urgent and justified circumstances only. They are not recognised as a valid travel document by all countries. A temporary passport issued at the airport costs a minimum of CHF 150 for children, minors and adults.

The cost of documents abroad is calculated according to the current exchange rate of that country and must be paid in the currency of the country, including any postage or delivery costs.

Delivery times

Once your application for a new passport and/or identity card has been approved, you should receive your document(s) within 10 working days (if in Switzerland) or 30 working days (if abroad).
